day 236 - printing processes

[ rub down transfer ]

remember ‘letraset’? (those ABC letterings in a large range of typefaces, styles, sizes, symbols, and other graphic elements in sheets being transfer on to another piece. ) yes, that is one of the printing processes before the advent of the computer techniques of word processing and desktop publishing. was always a tedious job, to do the layout column lettering by hand require skills. previously when i was in the star publication, i remember the aunties used to tell me that newspaper in those years was exactly done by accuracy of eyesight and much skills before having desktop publishing. had alot of experience and eye opening being in the star publication. and now in the UK, i got to meet the men that makes rub downs. *honoured* i had to pay a boom to customized my own letraset rubdown i had to for my finals. he taught me bout the heat, the inks, the rollers, the UV lighting needed. *fulfillment*
